Flights from Devon Airfields

Devon is a beautiful county. I'm biased of course. We spent many a holiday on North Devon surfing beaches and moved to the county in 2016. Join me in the sim, flying from Devon airfields.

Short MSFS2020 videos from Devon airfields and airports:

Tuesday, June 21st, 2022 at Magery Cross Airstrip. Majery Cross airstrip is a microlight field that is very hard to find. It is little more than a field in someone's back garden. Ideal for the Top Rudder which is little more than a wing with an engine and a seat slung below it. In this short flight, I point out some of the hazards of take-off and landing. See for yourself.

Saturday, May 27th, 2022 at Exeter Airport. Exeter is my nearest airport. On this short flight, I shall point out the Chiefs Rugby Club home ground, Exeter Cathedral, and some of the other prominent features of the area. It is a clear, sunny day so you can see vast swathes of Devon and some of Dorset. Come along for the vista. Devon Airfields - Exeter

Saturday, May 7th, 2022 at Dunkeswell. There is a lot to do around Dunkeswell Aerodrome. You don't have to get in the air. There is the Nigel Mansell Raceway, The airfield memorial, and a couple of miles to the Northeast, the Smeatharp Banger and Stock Car Racing Stadium. Also, if you are into flying without an engine, the Devon and Somerset Gliding Club has its base a mile to the Southwest. Join me for an aerial view.

Thursday, April 28th, 2022. If you visit North Devon from Bideford to Woolacombe, in good weather, you should see Lundy. It's a small island about 25 miles off the coast. You can get a boat there from Bideford, but why not fly. It boasts a small airstrip. Come and see.

Saturday, April 23rd, 2022. Back at Bolt Head to contrast an alternative airfield update from Superspud (https://flightsim.to). Again in the Robin CAP 10. Since it is an aerobatic trainer, I try my hand at a couple of stunts. Fly with me.

Saturday, March 19th, 2022. Have you flown in a powered glider? Join me on this short flight from Brentor airfield on Saturday the 19th of March. It was late afternoon. I was taking a break from the Six Nations Rugby. Italy had just won their first match in 37 games! Enough of the rugby. Back to the flying. We shall power our way up and glide back down. Ride with me and see if we make it.

Saturday, February 19th, 2022. In this short jolly, I do something in the simulator that you can't do in real life. I fly over Salcombe. Salcombe Airport is on the cliffs to the south of the town. North of the airfield is a no-fly zone. Otherwise known by its wartime name of Bolt Head, Salcombe Airport now has only a single grass strip. Come along and see Salcombe from the air.
